THERE IS A PURPOSE IN GOD’S PLAN
Mordecai Foils a Plot — Chapter 2:19 – 23
Haman’s Plot — Chapter 3

Esther Chapter 2:19 – 23
The newly-crowned Queen Esther was a Hebrew. She was instructed by Mordecai to keep her background and nationality a secret because she was now the queen of Persia. Mordecai continued to hang around the king’s gate while trying to keep tabs on Esther and to advise her through the beginnings of her new life. While at the king’s gate, Mordecai overheard two of the king’s officers, Bigthana and Teresh, planning to assassinate the king. Mordecai told the plot to Esther, who in turn notified the king. Esther gave all of the credit to Mordecai. After a thorough investigation, the plot was found to be true. Bigthana and Teresh were put to death.

Esther Chapter 3
King Xerxes honored a man named Haman the Agagite, elevating him to a seat of honor that was higher than that of all the other nobles in Persia. Haman was a descendent of Agag, who was an enemy of Israel. Haman expected all of the nobles to bow down to him, but because Mordecai was a Hebrew, he refused to bow down to a Hebrew hater (Haman). Haman was enraged. Once Haman found out that Mordecai was a Hebrew, he looked for a way to destroy all of Mordecai’s people (Hebrews) in all of the land of Persia. Haman convinced King Xerxes to make a decree to destroy all of the Hebrews in Persia because they would not bow down and follow the Persian laws. This decree of eliminating all Hebrews was sent out to all of the Persian properties and provinces. Haman and King Xerxes celebrated this decree together by sitting down and having a drink together.

God’s plan of the Savior coming into this world to pay the penalty of the sins of mankind was jeopardized by the decree to eliminate all the Hebrews. Satan’s plan of destroying the Lord’s plan of the future Savior’s arrival on Earth through parents of Hebrew lineage needed to be thwarted. In the next chapters of Esther, you will see that God used Mordecai and Esther to stop the decree from being carried out, and what the consequences were for Haman, who devised this plan through deception — all because of his hatred for the Hebrew people

Application
God’s redemptive plan of satisfying the sin issue by His Son Who paid the price for our sins with His shed blood on the cross, needed to stay intact. God will not allow His plan to be deterred. That was in the past, and it continues to today’s events and future plans by Satan to disrupt God’s plan in ages to come right to eternity future. So, friends, do not be discouraged by the events of today or the future. God is in control and guiding us and using us through this journey of the Church Age to complete His church. Heaven is being prepared for us for an eternity in Heaven with Him. WHAT A COMFORTING THOUGHT. Fellow Christian, stay committed to being a witness for our God while on Earth. Keep involved and never stand on the sidelines being an observer. STAY COMMITTED TO THE WORK OF THE LORD.
